I cannot access the app
This document helps to clarify what happens when access to the app fails
The BulkOps Org doesn’t require any login details from the user to authenticate. These are the only conditions required.
Make sure that you have cookies enabled on your browser. We require cookies to authenticate you into the system. Please also see Why we need cookies
Make sure that you are not using a private browsing. Private browsing by default will disable cookies which goes back into this cycle. Ensure that if you intend to use private browsing, cookies are enabled. Although, we’ll prompt you to let you know that cookies are disabled.
At all times, please access the BulkOps Org from within your Jira environment and do not attempt to access from the app’s direct URL as it won’t work. We authenticate into the app using your Jira context, so we need to be within your Jira environment to identify your user.
Navigate to your Jira environment on the overhead menu
Click under Apps and find the BulkOps Org
Then click on the “Access page” button. That’s all the steps there is
If using other browsers, please make sure that you have checked the steps 1 to 3 above and follow it accordingly.
Note
We understand that sometimes, there might be a hurry to test out a feature, please ensure following the steps outlined above to have a smooth experience using our app and to prevent any minor issue that might seem like a major problem.
First party vs third party cookies
→ When our app is loaded within your Jira site, we are then considered as third-party cookies as your Jira site would be the first party and if your browser settings disable third-party cookies our app won’t function properly. Please ensure that your cookies are enabled to allow our app to function properly. On Chrome this will involve choosing the “Block third-party cookies in Incognito mode” option for a normal browsing mode to access the app. Which means in a private browsing mode our cookies will still be blocked but not on a normal browsing mode.
→ We do not track users with any of the app’s cookies. We specifically have cookies to enable us identify your user and provide a better experience within the app.
